Product Details

Damn I love this knife. Integral knives in general are my favorite type of knife to make. The term "integral" refers to the integrated steel bolster that transitions from knife into handle. These are my favorite types of knives because they can only be forged. This style of blade shows the skill of the smith in taking a large hunk of steel and carefully forging it into shape. You can see how the pattern flows from the bolster into the heel and belly of the blade.

Anyway, I guess that's enough of tootin' my own horn. Let's get down to some specifics. This blade is 7.5" from tip to heel, where it is 2" wide. As mentioned above, it features an integrated bolster with a G10 spacer and some absolutely out of this world, dyed a stabilized maple burl. This knife does not have a traditional pin, instead it is mechanically fastened to the handle using what is known as a through-tang construction. A nut has been threaded onto the end of the tang and epoxied in place. Difficult to do, but soooo worth the effort.

This is probably my favorite steel/wood combo to date. Get yourself this knife and look forward to cooking every day.
